These words scream at you, echo through your body like a hunger for something more. A gnawing, a gnashing, a fucking wound which needs to be opened. A festering urge that slithers into every last intersecting angle of your life.

You do not belong. You do not feel right. There is something more...it rests at the edge of your fingertips.

YOU ARE A MORTAL, A FACE IN THE CROWD.

This world is not as it should be. Mortals did not make it this way, something else did. An invisible hand, a hammer which strikes the tender metal of flesh and works it into alien designs. They are NEW GODS. They are not gods of the sun, the stars, the wind, and the harvest. They are gods of the screen, of drugs, of automobiles, of the grind, of dehumanization.

YOU ARE A SLEEPING GOD, A BEAST IN A CAGE.

A thousand lifetimes lived, a thousand lifetimes died. The grip of the eternal midnight sea Tehom pulls you back each and every time you die. And each and every time, you are confronted with the immortal cycle of reincarnation you are now trapped in. This is your prison, but it was not built for you. It doesn't matter; you are here now. You are a Young God, trapped in mortal flesh.

You can cast gutter magic and command animals, you can forge relics from orichalcum and spread your metaphorical (and literal) wings. You are a GOD...but you are nothing without help, nothing without a Pantheon.

You see the world the New Gods have made, and decide this is the time. Enough is enough. It is now or never that you will raise banners, claim power, and take what is yours once again.

Young Gods is a new narrative-based TTRPG inspired heavily by American Gods, Supernatural, and the fact that something is not right with our world. It is a game about:

- Monsters and how they have names and addresses.

- Gods and how far they have fallen.

- Humans and how they beg to be so much more.

- Revolutions and how they are inevitable.

- The past and how the ones who rule over us wish to erase it.

YOU are a Young God, an ancient deity from the far flung past: worshipped, revered, and sacrificed to. But as the ages wore on, faiths changed, symbols of worship evolved, and you were left in the dust...until you weren't.

Just like many of your peers, you are trapped in an eternal cycle of reincarnation, unable to escape this mortal existence, aware of your power and your past, but unable to garner the strength to do anything more than survive.

But now, you have decided there is a way to be more than a survivor. With your Pantheon of Young Gods by your side, you will carve a path from the alleyways to the penthouses, hunting and hoping to destroy the NEW GODS, the rulers of this reality.

What can you do in Young Gods?

Young Gods features novel systems for becoming and playing as a god, in whatever ways that means to us mortals. It contains:

- A new d12-based dice pool system called the Folklore System, inspired by storytelling games over the past 30 years.

- A deep but easy-to-use Miracles system for affecting the world around you.

- Rules for growing in power and building your True Form through Anointments and godly features.

- Talents, divine abilities, and Faults which impact gameplay.

- 8 Mythos through which to flex your godly might: boil the seas, curdle the blood of mortals, harness the elements themselves, make reality your plaything.

Purchasers that get the game now are able to watch the game evolve and update, and are guaranteed a copy of the digital Standard Edition Full Release following a successful crowdfunding campaign. The funds made through the campaign will be mainly used to complete the art as well as cover printing costs.

For people interested in even more art, after the crowdfunding campaign, all pre-release purchasers will also get a discount code to purhase the digital Usurped Edition for a discounted amount.

What is in the Pre-Release?

The current Pre-Release version has the following:

- Chapter 1, an overview of the setting, themes, and what to expect from the game.

- Chapter 2, an overview of the Mythos and the unique features that gods are subject to in this universe.

- Chapter 3, a complete character creation section outlining the distribution of characteristics, Talents, Faults, divine powers, and designing your deity's unique abilities.

- Chapter 4, a look at the Folklore System and its many subsections, with Mysteries, Crafting, Chases, Social Combat, and more.

- Chapter 5, an exploration of Miracles, Anointments, and how to use reality to make your enemies suffer.

The FULL Release will also include:

- Chapters 6 & 7, a detailed guide to fleshing out antagonists like New Gods, creating NPCs and monsters, and exploring the wider world of Young Gods.

- Chapter 8, Hedon City Stories, a sandbox setting with adventures to experience in Toronto Canada, the sex club capital of North America!

- Appendices, which will include rules for creating Demigods, Forgotten Gods, Sleeping Gods, and more!

What is the Future?

We have big plans for Young Gods, starting with a crowdfunding campaign on April 14th, 2026 in order to print the core book. Before then, we want to playtest rules and systems with the general public, and let all of you have a chance to influence the development of the game! Suggest new Anointments, ideas, concepts we haven't thought of. Be creative, and tear it apart to make it better than before! Don't worry, we can take it.

We are aiming for a page count of around 350, with two version:

- Young Gods, Standard Edition, which has all the content, rich illustrations, and polished rules.

- Young Gods, Usurped Edition, which has uncensored art and additional hidden features for curious minds.
